In Finland installing Thai operating system to your Nokia N8 phone costs 35€, you will loose Finnish keyboard and it will be restored back to original operating system in the next update, because the phone was originally marked to it. With these instructions you can get Thai-keyboard, but the operating system remains as original. These instructions are using software, which is in beta-phase. Now you know it – so I’m not responsible, if something goes wrong. Anyway, it shouldn’t affect to your phone’s guarantee.

Here we go:

1. The newest Swype version from Ovi (19197) or from Betalabs (18515) just doesn’t work with the available Thai language pack. So download and install an old version of Swype (1.0.13559) from:
http://www.megamobilecontent.com/freeware/Nokia-E7/swype-i40908/

2. Reboot your Nokia N8.

3.  Download and install old version of Thai language pack (SwypeThaiDictionary 20110112 beta.sisx):

4. Change your writing language to English to see Swype keyboard.
In Finnish: Asetukset -> Puhelin -> Kieli -> Kirjoituskieli -> English
In English: General Settings -> Phone Settings -> Language -> Writing Language -> English

5. Go to write new text message and get the text keyboard open.

6. Change your writing language to Thai from Swype keyboard. Language button is on top left and it probably says EN before you do this. See the tip b.

7. Now Thai keyboard should be visible. It’s ready!

In this configuration Thai-word suggestion doesn’t work. Suggested letters are not visible.

Tips:

d. You can also install Finnish keyboard (Step 3.), but it really can cause crashing as it says.
